Significant Concept: Technology can help me discover my strengths.
Unit Question: How can I be a superhero?

Requirements:

  • Use STYKZ to create an animation about you.

  • Create a super hero stick figure character that represents you.

  • Choose a talent or strength you have.

  • Use your talent or strength to create an amazing animation.

  • Your animation must be15 seconds long, with 20 frames per second.

  • Use the Design Cycle to complete your assignment.

  • When you are finished with your animation, upload it into your wikispace.

  • Copy and paste all of the information below into your wikispace to answer the questions. Name your new page "How Can I Be a Super Hero".

  • You will receive an MYP grade for Investigate and Attitude.

  • You will also receive an academic grade. (See the rubric at the bottom of this page.)

Do you ever use or see animation in your life? Explain. -Yes, a lot of my favorite movies are animations. Plus, when I was in 6th grade, I was in a tech club, and we did animation using photo booth.
Explain how animation can be positive and negative. -Animation can be positive because all you need is a computer, but it can also be negative if you don't have a lot of computer experience.
How does knowing what your strengths and talents are help you in your life? -It can help you when you start to decide what career you want to pursue.
Do you think you can help people with the strengths and talents you have? Explain why or why not. -Yes, definitely! You can help others with your strengths, and they can help you with theirs.
How can you be a super hero? (Write a paragraph!)
-Everybody can be a super hero, and you don't need super powers! If you help somebody in amy way, you are being a super hero. I personally can be a super hero when I help somebody with their homework. Or when I am a good friend to somebody. Everyone can be a super hero.

PLAN:
- What are your ideas for your animation? (Brainstorm - list all your ideas)- me helping a little person reach something, or me helping somebody with their homework
- What idea are you going choose for your animation and why do you choose it? -I am going to help my little sister reach something on a shelf.
- Type a brief explanation of your final plot below: My little sister is going to be sad because she can't reach something. Then I am going to come in and help her reach it by lifting her up.
- How does this story represent you? -It shows that I am a good sister and a good friend.
- How does the main character represent you? -..... uh... the main character IS me. :)
- Does your idea meet all the requirements? -Yes!
- You have 5 days to work on your animation. -OK!
